 All Head Coaches should conduct their first “official” team meeting within the first two weeks of the season. Contact Joe Pulis for help with your meeting agendas. Also, a board member will be assigned to attend your meeting. Please notify Joe Pulis of your meeting date and time and he will coordinate board member attendance.

The annual, MANDATORY, Mission Valley Coach’s Workshop will be held THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 18TH, at St. Anne’s Parish, in Union City.

All head coaches and assistant coaches must attend this workshop to receive their coach’s card. Remember, only card-carrying coaches may sit on the bench during games.

Date & Time of the workshop will be posted, shortly.

Coach’s Safe Environment Training

Course completion is required for ALL coaches.

New coaches:

Go to the SET website: http://www.shieldthevulnerable.org/default.aspx

• Click on “Adults Sign-Up”
• In the “Your Organization” pull-down menu, select “Catholic Diocese.” Then, “Oakland Diocese (CA)”
• Complete all fields for “User Login Data”
• Select “Adult Safe Environment Training”
• Click “Step 2″

 That should get you going towards the SET course.

 If you have any trouble accessing the site or the course, please notify Joe Pulis or Barry Magsanay, asap.

  Coach Registration Requirements

• Completed Coach’s Application & Signed Coach’s Code of Conduct Form
• Completion of Safe Environment Training (SET):

• Attendance at OLG Coach’s Meeting at Player Drafts Day
• Megan’s Law Background Check
• Interview with Coach Coordinator and Athletic Director (new coaches, only)
• Fingerprinting (Specific Grades, TBD for 2010-2011 Season)
• Attendance at the Mission Valley League Coach Certification Workshop in October, 2010

ALL above items/actions must be completed by all assigned new and returning coaches for the 2010-2011 season.
